Assistant Director of Student Activities and Engagement
 

• Support students and student organizations in developing and implementing a vibrant and diverse set of co-curricular and social offerings that support and enhance student life at the College.

• Provide broad oversight to a comprehensive student leadership education program.

• Advises the 32 student clubs and organizations; works closely with the Director in the recognition process, developing and monitoring club and organization budgets which include student fee allocations, expenditures, and fundraising accounts.

• Plans and implements College-wide programs including Heritage Months, Awareness Months and programs that will enhance student development, up to 130 – 140 programs during the academic year as well as 12 – 16 off campus events.

• Provide supervision to night and weekend student programs/events.

• Assist in the planning and implementation of New Student Orientation; recruit, train and supervise student Orientation Leaders.

• Work closely with the Director in managing the Commuter Assistant program.

• Assist in planning and implementing Welcome Back and other tasks as designated by the Director.

• Assisted in expanding and continuing existing initiatives within multicultural programs and services for ALANA (Asian, Latino, African and Native American) students such as Leadership development, cultural & social programming, pre-professional opportunities, recognition ceremonies, recruitment, counseling, academic support, and career services.

• Responsible for assisting in the overall management and daily operations. For the 550 student capacity residence hall

• Regularly visited the apartments within the building, disseminating information and programming.

• Updated each apartment using memo postings, and health and safety checks of residents and apartments.

• Participated in weeknight and weekend duty rotation for the apartment complex, serving as Director on Duty. The Director on Duty responds to all incidents in their designated area.

• Conducted lock-outs for residents, delivers letters to Students as needed, and conducts fire drills in their respective areas.

• Administrative and operational functions of the apartment complex, including but not limited to, check-in and checkout procedures.

• Help facilitate student housing sign-up, staff selection, and facilities-related functions in conjunction with Apartments.
